Samantha Ruffell-Smith is the creator and innovator of K9 by Igloo designs. The products have been beautifully designed and created for our dogs to look smart and dress up for those special occasions. In order to support a long standing relationship Vital Pet Health has had with Igloo designs we thought it would be nice to profile what they do and how they came about....

In 1997 Samantha launched a fashion and print design company called igloo designs before taking the bold step of moving into pet accessories in 2000. The K9 brand was born and is the UK's original producer of T-shirts for dogs, as well as being one of the first companies to produce designer pet accessories. From small beginnings K9 has grown into a successful brand, recognised for it's high quality products and excellent customer service and is now distributed worldwide.

As well as creating products for our own award winning range we have also designed lines for ‘Virgin Atlantic’, ‘M&S’, ‘Bonio for Purina’ and the ‘Royal Collection’.

Both the K9 pet products and K9 home ranges have been very well-received by retailers and had consistent press attention. We have been included in many national and trade publications including the New York Times, Saturday Telegraph, The Times, The Independent, Guardian Weekend, Anita Roddick ‘At Home’, to name but a few and also featured on various television programmes.

Even as the business has grown, K9 has maintained a strict policy of creating products which not only look great but are practical and produced to a very high standard. K9 don't advocate that dogs be treated as accessories and therefore only produce products with the highest regard for animal welfare. All the K9 products are designed in-house and manufactured by carefully selected suppliers within the UK, Europe and the Far East. All our dog t-shirts and hoodies are manufactured in Europe under the'earth positive' and 'Fairwear' codes of practice.
