Paul Manktelow. Diarrhoea is an increase in the volume or fluidity of faeces due to an increase in faecal water content. It is not a disease itself but a sign of many different diseases. The severity of diarrhoea ranges from mild cases which resolve spontaneously to severe cases which can progress to fatal outcomes.
