Hip Dysplasia in Dogs

Paul Manktelow.  Hip Dysplasia is a very common degenerative joint disease seen mostly in dogs.  It results from the abnormal development of the hip joint in the young dog.  Dogs of all ages can get Hip Dysplasia but severe cases can be recognised when pups are only a few months old.  Any dog can suffer from the disease but it is most common in the large and giant breeds.  There is an inherited genetic factor to the disease.
