Aural Haematoma in Dogs

What is an aural haematoma?

Paul Manktelow.  This is essentially a blood blister in the ear. Aural means ear, haematoma is a collection of blood, usually clotted. For example a bruise is a form of haematoma. The aural haematoma will look like a swelling in the ear flap, your dog may be holding the head to one side and even resent you touching the ear.
